Paper Recycling Plant St. Louis, Missourii
Smurfit-Stoner Container Corporation, the
world’s largest packaging company, is also the world’s
largest paper reclamation business. They handle over seven
million tons of recycled paper annually through 23 reclamation
facilities. One of the major collection centers for this recycling
effort is Smurfit-Stone’s St. Louis Plant.
Located north of downtown St. Louis, this
facility processes incoming plastic, paper and cardboard
products,
sorting, compacting and bailing them for shipment to another
facility where they are processed into useable products.
ACME
Erectors was contracted for the installation of the two lines
of Hustler drag conveying equipment, sorting station mezzanines,
hoppers, compactors and bailers for the facility. This project
included drag conveyors up to eight feet in width and other
individual components weighing up to 70,000 pounds.
