Ameren
Labadie Power Plant
Labadie, Missouri

Ameren is a major power supplier to the St. Louis metropolitan area. All work at Amerens facilities is done under the National Maintenance Agreement. Sootblower Platforms – At Ameren’s Labadie Plant, ACME Erectors contracted for a number of projects, including the installation of steel framing for new sootblower platforms. This work consisted of installing structural steel to create four new platforms in a highly congested area of the plant. The work required the modification of existing platforms, stairs and handrails to allow the new platforms to be installed at the elevations required for access to the sootblowers. Coal Unloading Hopper Rehabilitation – ACME was awarded a contract for the rehabilitation of the coal-unloading hopper for the plant. The scope of this rehabilitation consisted of removal of existing wear plates to allow for the sandblasting and painting of the structural framing, the installation of new wear plates and the repair of stress fractures on the remaining framing. Due to the necessity of keeping the generation station in service, this work was accomplished on a very tight schedule which involved very close coordination with other crafts involved during the shutdown.
